Family Mart Magazine Attacks FGs

Postby Mulboyne » Thu Feb 01, 2007 8:24 pm

Image

There's a magazine called GAIJIN HANZAI URA FILE on sale at Family Mart which details the heinous crimes of foreigners in Japan as well as a number of pictures of FGs with their Japanese girlfriends. I'm really torn between wanting one and not wanting to support the publisher. I suppose one option would be to steal a copy from Family Mart but that would just be playing into their hands.

This story is also on Big Daikon and Debito has picked it up. Both sites have more pictures and some translations.

Steal it, scan it, upload it.

If you're like me, you'll want to get a copy as soon as possible to check if you are featured in the photos. :shake:

That's fucking hilarious! Especially the photos showcasing the gaijin with the J-girls. Talk about jealousy.

I wonder if Gov Blinky will quote from it

So does this mag target a specific ethnic group like Brazilians, Chinese, Americans, or just all non-Japanese.

Check and see if Takechanpoo has an "Dating a loser gaijin" advice column somewhere in the rag.

I'm headed off to FM right now. That one photo looked like it was taken while the rag sat on the rack. So I'll give that a shot.

I have a copy on its way. Local FamilyMart had no copies (though admittedly I'm only familiar with the girly magazine section... maybe it was somewhere else that eluded me).

Work? Sheesh. I was busy with a little 路上手マン action with the lady, and I still managed to get my post in before you. (ooh, how's that for a double-entendre?)

No soap at my FM. According to BigDaikon, here's the publishing info:
Publisher: Eichi Shuppan 150-001 Tokyo-to, Shibuya-ku, Jingumae 5-38-4
Publisher-in-Chief: Joey H. Washington

I'm guessing the name is just imaginary. The address is a place just around the corner from the Pink Cow.

Instead of buying the rag I am emailing any news and human rights group I can think of with the link to debitos site. Sounds like a few people are doing the same over at big daikon.

Fools! This magazine is the best thing ever. It may SAY it's about gaijin crime, but come on, look at the pictures. This how-to guide on avoiding a run-in with a mean, nasty gaijin is going to be used by gaijin-seeking J-chicks for exactly the opposite purpose. You should be working to help get the widest distribution possible for this magazine.

While you may find the tone of the magazine very offensive, I can understand the frustration by some when a foreigner soils one of theirs. But I think that they should scold the J-chicks and not the foreign guys for doing this.

The guy's hand in the pussy of that girl on the sidewalk is hard to take for any self-respecting Japanese.

Question is, does this also happen with a J-couple? Not to defend the magazine but I have only seen these things with foreign guys. Fuck, maybe I have even offended a few sensibilities myself and looking at the pictures posted here I can only say I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. Sorry but I'm with the magazine on this one, even though it's not politically correct.

Of course it happens with J-couples. Where is that thread with multiple photos of J-couples caught doing the nasty in the backseat?? I remember one where you can even see the box of tissues in the passenger seat.

What's interesting to me is the issue of freedom of speech. Although I do find such a magazine disturbing, there is an interesting line in japan when it comes to what can be published and more importantly, where things can be published.

A friend of mine (you know this friend, the kind referred to in movies as "a friend of mine") often buys magazines like this. Usually they are about technology, piracy, file sharing software etc.

These kinds of magazines really open up a different kind of Japan than to what most foreigners here experience.

Magazines like this tend to circulate as oddities etc until/unless you read and write Japanese. The moment you start reading Japanese the whole terrain of Japanese popular media starts to shift. There are a lot of voices out there, out here, nasty voices that most foreigners in Japan are unaware of because of their failure to become literate in Japanese.

This piece of shit is not even the tip of the iceberg.

I picked up a copy at lunch. It is indeed a complete smear piece. It's mandate: Japanese good, FGs bad. Here are a few highlights:

- A manga that recreates the killing in Fukuoka where the family of four were dumped into the harbor a few years back.
- A one-page photo of two FGs (male and female, shot from behind) escorting a salaryman down a road that has the male saying in a quote bubble written purely in katakana: "Over this way is the ATM."
- A ranking of the top-10 crimes by foreigners. Number one is the murder of Yasuko Watanabe written up in this thread. Geisha Anita only took the number 4 slot. Number 10 was the abduction of the daughter of Yuko Ikeda, the plastic surgeon mentioned in this thread.
- Mugshots of wanted FGs. This includes the Columbian, Ricardo Andres (spelling??), who is accused of killing an American in Yoyogi Park in 2005.
- A two-page feature on FGs stealing J-copyrights. I actually laughed at this one. The title is Japanese Brands "Otaku Culture." There are a few small photos of Pokemon, DVD covers, and hardware goods that have been nicked by Koreans. Then there's a photo of an FG hunched over with a satchel talking to girl (looking to be wearing a HS uni), who is squatting. It looks like Shibuya. The caption then goes on to talk about culture of used-panty sales crossing the sea. An "overseas mania" is calling to Japan, it says. The message seems to be: We must protect Japanese panties from foreigners!
- Lots of random sex-worker crimes, profiles, etc.

After flipping through it, however, I can see that not much of the pub has anything to do with FGs picking up locals. Mostly it is about crimes.

You don't get out much, evidently. I alternate between jogging home from work late at night along the Sumida or biking along the Arakawa, and it's pretty much inevitable to find at least one J-couple every night going at it on the benches or in the grass.

Of course, but that's for a separate scandal sheet! It would be unuseable for these purposes as a NGC (No Gaijin Connection)!
