There has just been a New Zealand Cafe opened in Roppongi which is serving NZ beer, wine, icecream and burgers amongst other things. Ive heard its a pretty cool place. Its been funded partly by the tourism board so the food should be of a high standard.

Has anyone tried the new Mcdonalds MEGA PATTY?? I think this one will drop you faster than .45 hollowpoint right through the ticker. I'm gonna make an appointment with an EDTA clinic just after I eat it.

A new "American Diner" called Fat Robs has opened in Ebisu, Tokyo. The Japanese owner worked for foreign-owned IT firms before setting up his new shop. He says he always remembers the diners he used when he lived in LA 30 years ago and wants to recreate some of that taste and atmosphere.

No, actually he has the neon thing going.. If the food is good, it'll create the right atmosphere. Might have to check it out..

Is 'Maroyaa Burger' the name of it? If so, were you planning on having a coronary 'suicide party'? ;)

It's the "mayoraa" burger Taro, what do you expect, no mayo?

For those not in the know: "mayoraa" = a person who loves mayonnaise

Sorry, the official name for it was the 800g "スペシャルチーズバーガー" / "Super Cheese Burger" , but it really was a "mayoraa" burger.

Seriously. The LOG KIT "スペシャルチーズバーガー Set" was the wost meal of my life --- and I've been served freshly boiled puppies in 2-week old mutton stew on the Navajo Reservation.

Ah. Of the 800g, how much of it was meat and/or meat by-products?

I'd say it was 30% liquids like mayo, ketchup, mustard, salaryman snot, etc. as well as overly large pieces of onion, cabbage and tomato, to boost the total weight to 800 grams. The meat itself was described a "1/3 lbs patty" in English on the menu.

Mainichi: Fast-food shop goes upscale with foie gras burger
A fast-food shop here has taken the humble hamburger to culinary heights with the introduction of the foie gras burger. The foie gras burger sells for 1,350, 1,400 or 1,450 yen at the "Classic Burger" shop in Fukuoka's Hakata-ku. The 27-year-old manager of the shop developed the idea to attract more customers to the local shopping area. An official of the shop said that the foie gras burger tastes best when eaten hot.

The return of Burger King - the first new branch is set for Island Tower, Nishi Shinjuku in June. It is currently a Lotteria so presumably other branches will be converted.
