That reminds me of a scene last week when, sadly, I had no camera to hand. Around 11:30pm outside Shinjuku Station south exit, a ramen yatai had set up with some tables and stools. Sitting on two of the stools were a uniformed policeman talking with a large white foreigner while another policeman stood nearby. The incongruous setting made it seem like a friendly chat but I got the distinct impression the FG hadn't initiated the conversation. I can't imagine the owner was best pleased to have a couple of his seats occupied at such a busy time but he probably wasn't about to ask them to move.

I really wish I could find the original advertisement again. From what I remember he was offering himself up as a fluent guide and the overall tone of the ad was serious, but then he included that pic and all I could think was, "who the hell would pay money to be stuck alone with that guy".
