Toyota Man Busted For Drugs

Postby Mulboyne » Mon Sep 22, 2008 12:20 pm

[floatl]Image[/floatl]Yomiuri: Toyota worker arrested over cannabis possession
A Toyota Motor Corp. employee has been arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana plants weighing about 2.7 kilograms in a mountain forest in Toyota, Aichi Prefecture, police said. Officers from the Aichi prefectural police's Asuke Police Station arrested Koichi Iwashita at about 6 a.m. Saturday in the forest on suspicion of violating the Cannabis Control Law. According to the police, Iwashita allegedly trespassed into the forest and planted about 30 hemp plants in February. "I grew them for my own use," Iwashita, 27, from Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, reportedly told police. The police are investigating how Iwashita obtained the seeds.

If only he was "smart" enough to grow his weed plants in his Toyota:

Maybe this is part of Toyota's new sales campaign, The Rasta Series?

So is he going to be kicked out of sumo for good or am I confusing my stories. Given the fact that it is Aichi and that there are a large number of Brazians there I wouldn't be surprised if the local Toyota factory starts demanding blood tests from all the foreigners-slave labourer who are approaching the end of there training visas.

Growers rule #1:
NEVER GROW IN AN UNSECURE AREA. If you are not the only person with knowledge and access to your grow area, don't even try it. Growing on public land is just plain stupid.

Why are japanese so dumb when it comes to this, didn't some college kids get caught growing on school grounds a while ago? And a monk got caught growing in a public forest? And another guy caught doing it in a flood canal?

That's ridiculous. The largest plots in the US are in National Parks or National Forests. The problem with plots on land you exclusively control is that it leads straight back to you.

true. In hawaii people grow out in the wild all the time. The difference is that the US cops don't have the money or time to waist sitting around in the woods waiting for the grower to show up. They generally just destroy what they find. Somewhere in the middle (not sure which states) the US government spends millions picking and destroying wild hemp claiming that they are destroying legit crops. While they are transporting the plants with a giant net by helicopter, the seeds fall all over and more ditchweed grows the next year. An endless cycle that they use for anti-drug propaganda. The truth is, the plants grown out doors mostly becomes shwag or is used for hash. Very few outdoor crops become high quality due to the labor involved.

Most of the "Cops" episodes I saw where they've made a pot growing bust in a field usually involved a large pyre and some gasoline with all the cops getting high off the smoke.

wait..... I didn't notice the amounts....

2.7kg = 5.9lbs
30 plants?...... that is 5 grams a plant. umm..... they can't be any taller than 6" or 15.24cm, 10"/25cm at the most. This guy had to tell someone. I find it very hard to believe that the police, or anyone else, randomly stumbled across this "garden" and didn't mistake it for ivy. He had to be selling it or he was bragging about it.

I agree. This is basic Ganja rule 101! In California(especially, Southern Calif.) most of hemp that is grown and harvested is grown either along the border regions of Mexico or within Mexico. Sometimes you have an idiot or two wanting to grow hemp in their backyard and the outcome of that is usually not good.
I remember about 12 years ago somewhere in Beverly Hills, the cops made a bust on this young kids premises. The guy had a huge mansion (about a 12 bedroom)and he was growing hemp everywhere, outside, inside, all over the staircases etc.
His initial excuse to the cops was "he was suffering from cancer" and his doctor recommend that smoking a lot of the good herb would reduce his pain. The property street value of that bust was around 12 million. From what I heard, the cops were tipped off from the high and constant random fluctuation in the guys electric bill.

This is a good reason why you never should grow the stuff on your property.

If I had a mansion, there would be ONE area for growing. And it would be in the basement and would not be bigger than 9x9

Young kid, hemp everywhere including outside, Bev. hills.... someone saw this and called the cops.

This is an urban legend. The cops don't work with the power company to catch pot growers. A professional sound studio would cause the same fluctuations in power usage, and I am willing to bet that more than a few people have private studios up there. There are people in cali that use entire houses to grow, in NYC people use whole apartments.

It wasn't an Urban Legend, it really happened. Sorry for getting the law enforcement mixed up. To me ALL law enforcement people are cops or at least pigs(if you wanna get real urban)I meant to say "DEA" :smoking:

Back home cops are cops, the people above them are feds. The DEA won't even think about weed until someone is big enough to violate federal trafficing laws. Currently that requires 50-99kg (110-218lbs), anything less is less than 4 years probation OR a $250,000 max fine for first offense. Judges tend to go for the fine and greatly reduce it (esp. in cali), so the DEA will over look these small guys. Most judges these days could give a shit less about weed, I personally have had 4 cases dismissed. The guy you are talking about lived in beverly hills, a very populated and HIGHLY PHOTOGRAPHED area, never mind the news choppers constantly flying around there. I am telling you someone called the cops, the power company thing is a HUGE myth.

P.S. To grow indoors, the magic rule is 70w per sq foot. A 10'x10' indoor area will produce about half a ton of high quality buds. That is 7,000 wats an hour. A 12 bedroom mansion will use more than that when the central air is turned on. Don't forget that the example you used is in beverley hills, I am sure that people have other hobbies out there that burn far more energy than that.

EDIT: here is a link to federal penalties. Unless you happen to live in a zero tolerance state the feds will not bother with the ones that say "not more than 5 years"

You haven't been home in a while, have you? Ever since they passed property forfeiture laws, cops at every level have been very aggressive in pursuing drug busts. They don't even have to convict you, just an arrest and they can seize your home, car, or even cash suspected of being involved in drug transactions. And then they'll boast about it.

Time for Taima

Postby mr. sparkle » Mon Oct 13, 2008 4:04 am

Until 1948 hemp could be grown by anybody, anywhere in Japan, without any legal restrictions. Then the Hemp Control Law passed under American occupation required anybody wanting to cultivate the plant to obtain a government license. Initially that law was largely ignored.

If you have seen the weed haikus before, excuse prease...

Weed Haikus
In the following Haikus, the feeling of cannabis is clear.
The wandering Zen poet Issa Kobayashi writes:

The cannabis around my hut
also has suffered
From summer thinness.
Just when I hear
The sundown bell,
The flower of this weed.

Basho the Haiku Master writes:

The cannabis- How wonderful it is!
The summer drawing room.
Trees and stones, just as they are.
Ah, how glorious!
The young leaves, the green leaves,
Glittering in the sunshine!

And one more, author unknown:

When all things are hushed,
suddenly a bird's song
arouses a deep sense of stillness.
When all the flowers are departed,
suddenly a single flower is seen,
and we feel the infinity of life.
