A Toyota Motor Corp. employee has been arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana plants weighing about 2.7 kilograms in a mountain forest in Toyota, Aichi Prefecture, police said. Officers from the Aichi prefectural police's Asuke Police Station arrested Koichi Iwashita at about 6 a.m. Saturday in the forest on suspicion of violating the Cannabis Control Law. According to the police, Iwashita allegedly trespassed into the forest and planted about 30 hemp plants in February. "I grew them for my own use," Iwashita, 27, from Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, reportedly told police. The police are investigating how Iwashita obtained the seeds.
