AP: Angry Ford dealer in SC blasts imports in ads
A Ford dealer angered over the proposed bailout of U.S. automakers blames the nation's sour economy on Congress and criticized buyers of Japanese cars, calling the vehicles "rice ready ... not road ready" in a radio ad. O.C. Welch, who owns a dealership near Savannah in Hardeeville, S.C., began airing the minute-long ad on a dozen stations in the area over the weekend. The ad sounds more like a talk-radio tirade than a sales pitch...Floyd Mori, executive director of the Japanese American Citizens League, said Welch's remarks evoke anti-Asian sentiments often aimed at Japanese and Chinese immigrants to the U.S. from the 1930s through World War II. He also noted many Japanese automakers' cars are manufactured in America. "It's a blatant, ignorant, racist remark from somebody who should know better," Mori said...more...

Well, they've now got the Messiah Obama and his labor union backers. He said he was going to "re-visit" all the trade agreement issues. Looks like his backers are giving him a place to start.

Having said that and before Bird gets his panties in a wad, I should add that McCain carried South Carolina 54% to 45%. So blame SC behavior on Karl Rove....

1930's sentiments, eh? At least people actually preferred to buy Ford motorcars back then. Today... not so much. :p

Good rule of thumb:

Anything that includes the words "Wake up America!" is the work of a complete and utter retard.

He sounds like the type of guy that supports america by fudging his taxes, weaselling his way out of jury duty, and hides his children in a french canadian bake shop whenever theres talk of a draft.

Then again, he could try selling products people actually want to buy. Rather than throw a 2-year old temper tantrum whenever the public doesnt want to buy shit products and sits there with his thumb up his ass dazed and confuzed

The U.S. House of Representatives approved legislation Wednesday night to provide $14 billion in bridge loans to the Big Three U.S. automakers.

The legislation passed 237-170, according to information on the U.S. House of Representatives Web site.

Officials with Ford Motor Co. and various auto suppliers have argued that the aid is essential to preventing the collapse of the U.S. automakers.

I can only hope he'll stay in this vein and run some ads asking folks to burn down the houses of those 'traitors' who work at the BMW factory in South Carolina
