Generally, Aoyama Gakuin University is ranked first but then there's no agreement although Sophia University and Keo rank high and Todai ranks low.

Do J-Universities even have "academic ratings"? The graduation rate is an average of something like 98% of the matriculation rate. Plus, the stuff kids have to study to get into one is akin to memorizing the phone book; critical thinking is obviously not encouraged.

My rug rats received regular A thru F grades calculated by points. At the last of the "seiseki" there was a listing of where they stood in the class. That is from three separate Universities. So at least those three schools did.

They also had the required courses, which could be finished in three to three and a half years, balanced out with the electives. When my one son had a requirement to go to the states early (two months before graduation), he just left because he had nothing remaining but electives and they told him don't worry about it and mailed his Degree (Sotsugyoushoumeisho) to the house.
