JPN research: Beer cures cancer too

Image Japanese researchers find that hops fight fat
realbeer.com /July 22, 2003 - Researchers for the Kirin Brewery have discovered that a bittering element in hops curbs the development of fat inside the body....
...mice that were fed with feed containing isohumulones developed twice the amount of enzymes that transform fat compared to the other group. Kirin researchers believe isohumulones help the development of fat-dissolving enzymes.
The discovery was announced during a recent meeting of the Japanese Society of Nutrition and Food Science.

Everything is good for you:

Italian researchers say eating pizza could protect against cancer. Researchers claim eating pizza regularly reduced the risk of developing oesophageal cancer by 59%. The risk of developing colon cancer also fell by 26% and mouth cancer by 34%, they claimed.

Pizza fights cancer

Pizza keeps cancer away: study
From correspondents in Rome
July 21, 2003

A STUDY has revealed that eating pizza on a regular basis could help stave off certain forms of cancer.

The eating habits of over 3,000 Italians suffering from cancer of the stomach or digestive tract were monitored during the study and compared with a sample of about 5,000 people suffering from other diseases, daily La Repubblica reported today.

The results showed that people who ate pizza once or several times a week were less likely to get cancer than those who chose not to eat it at all.

According to the study carried out by the Pharmacology Institute in the northern city of Milan, the risks of getting mouth, oesophageal or colon cancer plunged by as much as 34 per cent, 59 per cent and 26 per cent respectively.

The secret, according to Silvano Gallus who led the research, appeared to be connected to the preventive properties of the humble tomato.

- BEER IS A CURE FOR CANCER

DRINKING beer can cure cancer, according to researchers.
40oz Warriors-- Drunken News / Friday February 20th 2004
Experts who gave rats ale to drink for two weeks found the malt in the bevvy reduced the amount of DNA damage caused by colon cancer.
When Japanese scientists continued their study for five weeks, they found beer killed off some early lesions that can become cancerous. Dr Hajime Nozawa, who led the Yokohama researchers, said: 'The results suggest that daily, moderate consumption of beer may reduce the risk of cancer susceptibility in the colon.'

Oral sex linked to mouth cancer

Oral sex can lead to oral tumours. That is the conclusion of researchers who have proved what has long been suspected, that the human papilloma virus can cause oral cancers.

and yet another health food

Coffee is 'health drink' says Italian

Coffee contains tannin and antioxidants, which are good for the heart and arteries, she says.

It can relieve headaches.

It is good for the liver - and can help prevent cirrhosis and gallstones.

And the caffeine in coffee can reduce the risk of asthma attacks - and help improve circulation within the heart.

You might go blind, but it wont be from cancer

Postby ramchop » Wed Apr 07, 2004 10:13 am

In the US study, the group with the highest lifetime average of ejaculation - 21 times per month - were a third less likely to develop the cancer than the reference group, who ejaculated four to seven times a month.

If 21 times a month is the highest average I'm off the charts. I bet if I lived to be 70 and never came again I'd still beat that!

Coffee, beer, pizza, sex.. what else do you need in your healthy diet?:

Regular doses of worms really do rid people of inflammatory bowel disease. The first trials of the treatment have been a success, and a drinkable concoction containing thousands of pig whipworm eggs could soon be launched in Europe

Curryis the next miracle cure!
Cystic fibrosis is just the latest disease that research has shown might be alleviated by turmeric. Others include inflammatory bowel disease, cancer, alchohol-related liver disease and, most recently, Alzheimer's disease.
