Yeah, I buy that. They played chicken with a freight train and got clipped.
The high-tech stealth boat Ady Gil was cut in half and sunk by a Japanese security vessel in Antarctic waters today, dramatically upping the stakes in the annual struggle between whalers and protesters.
This video is different than the one with the article.. It does look like they were rammed; It didn't appear they were traveling very fast, or at all.. (edit - on second viewing, it looks like they sped up at the last moment. Was it to turn away? Avoid collision? Or, to ensure it was hit? I don't know. But I still stand by my below comments.)IkemenTommy wrote:Here is the video of the collision that we all wanted to watch.

bacon tastes good...pork chops taste good.
And there are enough Japanese people who eat whale to support traveling to Antarctica to kill them?! They should be harpooning white elephants while they're at it.eddie wrote:by the way...and not for nuthin'...but whale tastes AWFUL..

GJ.. Barker donated the funds to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, which used the donation partly to buy a new ship called the Bob Barker, which saw action Tuesday in the Antarctic when it made contact with Japanese whaling vessels.
Barker's gift also funded a new helicopter for the organization.
It looks to me like they swerved to ram them. You can see the ship roll as they turn right to hit them, then roll back as they turn away after the ramming..Mike Oxlong wrote:Basically, if all else fails, when two boats are at risk of colliding, the boat that has the other on its starboard must keep out of the way..

But it didn't look like the Gil was going in reverse either..
