It's what drew me here to Japan!

Seriously, did anyone else here come to Japan simply because of, as you put it, "Japan's largely mono-cultural, mono-racial, and mono-linguistic and religious elements, and is amazed at the level of harmony and natural balance that can be achieved by people of the same racial stock"?
I came for the beautiful scenery, cool temples, and neat history, and oh yeah, the food and chicks are nice too, it also kept me employed for two years. But what is great about history is just that, it is history, it is in the past, it is not coming back, the whole isolationist, mono-racial, mono-cultural Japan is history, and unfortunately that is still not recognized by many Japanese people.

It seems like something untouchable for them. I do know that pretty well because I read hundreds of so-called Nihonjin-ron written by gaijjns in my university days. Frankly speaking, almost all of Japanophile Euro-American had been bullied or abused ruthlessly in their child period because of their appearances(being extraordinarily fat, short, thin), ethnics(being Jew, Arabic European), religions, or weird mentalities etc. But they always fabricate "dignified" reasons(Japanese culture, history or martial arts) with hindsight.
"I came to Japan because I like Japanese tea ceremony!"
"The reason I came here is Judo! Yeah!!!"
And they delete their "miserable" personal histories after came here and behave like a manly proud men despite the fact that they never can be in their home country.

Japan can't resist diversifying anymore than you can stop a tsunami, its going to fucking happen. Everyday I see more and more kids who are clearly have two different heritages and I feel bad for them knowing damn well that they are going to have it tough growing up in Japan.

I think your comments on the US are well framed by your ignorance of the fact that the US attorney general is an appointed position, not an elected one.
Ah, it is all about you then? All these other dirty gaijin are wreaking your own personal fantasy about your private japan?.....that only you, in your infinite wisdom, can divine the 'soul of japan'...or at least much more so than other gaijin, and probably more so than a young J freeter working at lawsons who, unlike oh, pretty much everyone else in modern capitalistic societies, can ignore his or her own personal alienation from a society that clearly doesn't give two shits about them because they can always fall back on the societal manna that is wa. Right......

Isn't it always about "ME" "You" "I"....? I define my experiences in Japan as the most treasured and most beautiful things Japan has to offer. I am the truest Japan aficionado and love Japan more than a lot of Japanese do. My blog is full of this passion: Yasukuni, Jukujo, nihonshu, onsen, Temples and cuisines. Truly the purest essence of Japan.

McTojo wrote:History always repeats itself, that's why we learn from them we don't confine it to the past. You seem to not have learned anything. Japan can resist diversifying, it does it everyday quite naturally, thank you. The fact that the country was shut down and closed off for so long during seclusion is what allowed the arts to flourish and this beautiful country that you have come to appreciate. That's your first lesson. And leave Japanese women alone. They all belong to me.

BO-SENSEI wrote:You have seriously lost your fucking mind, no way in the modern world could Japan survive economically off domestic demand alone. Shutting itself off to the world be like trying to stop breathing. I could just imagine how Japanese girls would feel if they were not allowed to buy Louis Vuitton bags anymore. Not to mention close off ties with the Americans, I could just imagine what would happen to the Kuril Islands or the oil fields off Okinawa if America ever says "good luck, you're on your own." The American military is the only reason why Japan barks at the China and Russia.

Many foreigners have deep seated spiritual needs to the arts and cultural refinement, so they travel the world in search of that.

Most hilarious statement ever. Firstly, you're referring to people as foreigners. Are you Japanese? Or perhaps you just think you are.
