Huis Ten Bosch Considering Becoming An Eikaiwa Theme Park

Postby Mulboyne » Mon Dec 13, 2010 12:19 am

[floatl]Image[/floatl]Huis Ten Bosch, the Dutch-themed resort in Nagasaki, has announced it will open a new outdoor English conversation zone next spring. It will be staffed by around 40 foreigners under instructions to speak only in English and guests will pay 1500 yen a head for an hour of this experience. The resort operator, travel agency H.I.S, hopes that school groups, families and possibly even businessman will be interested. In the future, the service may be expanded to include indoor classroom sessions while some restaurants, hotel facilities and a jazz club may also be designated "English only zones". The resort ran a trial on Sunday (pictured left) with pupils from some local schools and foreigners from the nearby US base in Sasebo. These trials will continue next year in preparation for the full spring roll-out.

I went to Huis Ten Bosch to find a Dutch wife, but there weren't any there...

BTW, doesn't Huis Ten Bosch mean something like "Home of the Filthy German?"

I went there once. This is a wonky idea but that place couldn't get any boringer so I wouldn't say they have much to lose. For the teachers it would probably be better than your average eikaiwa gig unless your co-workers turned out to be those baby killing pig fucker U.S. military types.

So does this mean anyone of us who's white, black or otherwise non-Asian looking is going to get mobbed by Japanese saying 'harro harro!!'

Fug it.

Nope. It stays until the equally abominable, Dutch inspired kunreishiki romaji gets a stake through its heart! :ninja2:

And here I was wondering why it always seemed Japanese is easier to pronounce for Dutch and Germans, compared to Englishmen and Americanese :nice:
