I can understand maybe a few hours delay, but except for historians a 12 hour delay is worthless.

This may account for some of the delay. Generally, however what the graphs seem to indicate to me is that unless you are in Ibaraki or Fukushima you probably don't have much to worry about. The blowing up of the #3 reactor seemed to result in a spike of about twice background in Kanagawa so I can't see anything this getting much worse than that.

dimwit wrote:Depends largely on the source of your water supply. If it is groundwater than it will be months or even years before there is any noticable effect. Dams and other surface water is more immediately effected depending on the capacity of the dam and the total volume of water being used, so that may take weeks to show up.

I wonder how much of those numbers are because of the USS George Washington?cstaylor wrote:But with those ocean numbers coming out of Yokosuka, I wonder what that will do to coastal fishing?
cstaylor wrote:That's a good point! I didn't even think of that.

Is that more safety restricted and regulated than the USS Houston?(1VB)freels wrote:We are a hell of a lot more saftey restricted and regulated then all the plants in Japan.
