Steven Seagal? Who's that?

Movies, TV, music, anime other random J-pop culture phenomenons. Also film/video production, technical discussion, cast and crew calls, etc.

So is Steven Seagal turning into a caricature of Michael Madsen or vice versa?

Good lord, with Steven Seagull's acting you can never be sure whether it'se serious or a pisstake. By the looks of things, it's probably a good idea that he didn't eat that lamb, though that's probably about the only thing he's come across that he hasn't eaten in the past few years.
BTW, the Carlton ad before that one was one of the all-time classics of Aussie advertising...

As for Michael Madsen, I think it's time for Mr. Brown to start slicing some ears off...

I think Seagal-sensei is repeating the success/career path of William Shatner, the pride of the Great North.

Seagal had lunch in Juso today....
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

It's where his ex-wife's father's dojo was so he spent most of his formative years in Japan in Juso. I know people who knew him then and one of them had lunch with him yesterday.

Is the world ready for Steven Seagal's Genghis Khan epic?
--He's one of the film industry's greatest treasures, and if he wants to play the emperor of the Mongol hordes, who are we to stop him?--
The Guardian | 2011 July 7th
...
the greatest of all the vanity projects is unquestionably Seagal's Genghis Khan epic, which the On Deadly Ground legend first mentioned in 1998. He even got around to writing a script, which he instantly burnished by attaching himself to the project as director and star. Since then? Well, it remains tantalisingly unproduced, despite various missions to China to scout locations and actors. Oh, and the mafia got involved.
The usual.

There's kinda a Japan link to this movie, aside from the fact that Mongols tried to invade this cuntry until thwarted by the kamikaze....loads of performers were poisoned by radiation after the flick was shot near a place where above-ground nuke testing had been carried out and they were hit by the fallout.
Those were the days when armies used to protect their grunts from nuclear blasts by giving them a pair of Raybans and sending them marching into radioactive clouds (unless they hid in lead-lined fridges)...kinda reminds me of the approach at a certain reactor spewing out all sorts of toxic shite just north of Tokyo.
