Considering the way Japan is going into meltdown, I reckon Salvador Dali would probably have been a better choice to provide a more accurate image of the cuntry's current state...if he were alive (and Japanese because a foreigner would never even be considered for a job of this sort), of course.

those gov. agencies really know what motivates people, I just have to see a tuna fish get cut up!
It's a contrived attempt to create social media buzz, and rather than use existing platforms they just had to spend the budget on creating their own, which may be why the prizes are so tacky (though this could be because as a government agency they are limited in what they can offer as incentives).

That "etc." had better be fucking spectacular.
"Walking the runway in a fashion show" is probably the stupidest prize I have aver heard of, in that its appeal, although sort of understandable, is severely limited while some would even consider it a cruel form of torture.
