easy to mouth off about quality you're not the one paying for it. so which is it jack? you know what stuff costs / should cost or "to be honest [you] have no idea because daddy-in-law pays for it all"?
Jack wrote:Not sure what you're getting at. I'm talking about quality, get it? Read my lips: q-u-a-l-i-t-y. I knowm most English speaking people know nothing about it because everything has to be 99 cents. But most of the rest of the world can tell good from bad.
I have an idea what our house costs in Tokyo but I'm not about to debate it here. All I know is that we could never built a quality house like that in Canada because we simply don't have that kind of material. We are stuck with what Home Depot has because there are not many other suppliers left in the market.
Anyway folks, if you are debating the level of higher quality of anything in Japan versus what's avalialble in North America, then I can't help you. It's a well-known fact that if you want quality you go to Japan.
Other than that, all I can say is that you are a bunch of racist assholes pissed that a country which is not dominated by white anlgos is a better place.

The best of nearly everything goes to Japan. It is too expensive to be bought by most FG's or middle class Japanese though.

wuchan wrote:the argument that jack is using: "the best lumber goes to japan" simply does not work. The best lumber in the world either goes to royal households or is used in the restoration of victorian houses. What jack is personally claiming sounds like Cambridge MA victorian, without pics we will never know. Also, without pics he appears to be full of shit as usual. I am sure that some top quality lumber makes it here but ALL?, no fucking way. Jack is trying to say that there is ZERO top quality lumber available in North America because "it is ALL sent to japan". My house was built by a company that owns a forestry company using the best materials available in japan. The quality of the lumber does not even come close to what I have personally seen in restored victorian homes back in the US.

Pictures of the car are good enough...
But the girl really got conversation and stuff, mostly aboot carburators and ob-gy stuff...

Coligny wrote:Yeah, but 1 thing will nevar change... even in the public sector, single doctors make more money than they can spend... Mostly because they have barely anytime available to spend anything. Last clothing shopping with my wife was... I don't remember when... now she buy everything from Cecile (even shoes ffs) If it don't fit it goes to the recycling center, if it's ugly... she don't care since she's wearing it only in the car between pijama at home and operation gown at work... Hopefully I'm dere to spend some money...
Meanwhile... I overslept my cats for 2 days straight... If they could talk they'd call me a wanker... (no seriously... feeling incredibly low on energy these days... have stuff to do but fall asleep at the keyboard...)
(Side note... I don't know how are the rates these days, but back in Nagoya, a full week end duty as side job in the private was around 40 man + delivery fees... One of the owners had a Mitsuoka Le Seyde... sort of Benz SSK soy sauced...)

"Benz SSK soy sauced": You're a genius!
Samurai_Jerk wrote:That's pretty typical in Japan because they're very loose about what can be claimed as a business expense. It helps to make up for the high corporate taxes. I heard that one trick is to use your Suica or Passmo for as many purchases as possible. Then just claim everything as a transportation expense.
