The meds are doing NOTHING - viruses only last 5 days or so on their own. Get some cold and flu tabs over the counter to minimise the symptoms and just wait out the time.

The doctor is giving you stuff to keep you happy - don't go and let him over charge the national health system (sorry Colligny and Canman). Only go to doctors when you are really sick.

The main reason I even bothered going to the doc was I ran out of allergy meds...Claritin it OTC in the US, prescription in Japan. Think of how much better the health system would be if decent strength OTC meds were available.

Even without consulting Coligny's father-in-law, the German for bukkake is "bukkake," and the exact same sounds are then used for the Japanese word ぶっかけ. See!

My instinct was to say "generally, mysteriously fallen out of an open window from the Kempeitai HQ" but wikipedia does not back me up on that. Am I thinking of someone other than Sorge?

Wow....that's about double what I paid this morning. ( and what I normally pay when in the states...though the real good ones they don't sell here or online as they can be used to make other drugs)

I think you're thinking of Sorge.
I was thinking of Zorge, the specialist in explaining why one-time Axis cuntries went hyper weird sexually (with Germany and Japan bizarre on the one hand and Italy kinda obsessed with it but also pretending it doesn't happen on the other...)
Cheeky bugger!

The use of the word "went" suggests that these countries were not hyper weird sexually beforehand. And also this theory seems to require that none of the Allies have a tortuous relationship with sexuality. Go on, call me a cheeky bugger, but I think this theory is shit. All over my face and private bits.

Sex wasn't even invented in Allied cuntries until well after World War II (though it did exist at times in the best depending on who was not looking...)

Although if you're really desperate for a translation, maybe Gruppengesichtsbesamung would do the trick.

Are you kidding?
How could anybody possibly be disappointed by terms like total überraschtor überwältigend gewinnen?

Mind you, total überrascht sounds to me like a thoroughly itchy experience and an überwältigend seems like a funny way to refer to a superb Disney movie. That's just me, though....

I am willing to bet that your father-in-law was required to study German as a prerequisite for his studies. Whether you are happy receiving medical care from someone of your father-in-law's vintage based on the learning they received back in those dark ages is another matter, but there are times when knowledge of how a condition is described in German is a great hint as to what it will be called in Japan.

pretty sure the german level is a tickmark like highschool english...

Dad nor Mebitch can't speak a word of german despite both having this tickmark on their graduation package...
No book here, no matter the carbon dating needed to trace their age are in kraut. And as for engrish, german medical words in japandjingo are not considered german at all... like Dooooa for door or basssuuuu for bus... the standard toddler pratice apply "if i use it, it's mine"

The whole "older japanese doctors studied med in german..." leave me dreaming...

OK it must just be my Aryan good looks that explain why two doctors out of the three I have consulted here have tried to explain something to me in German.

For the same reason that EVERY FUCKING TIME I try to reach teh 60kph speed limit in a street that should not be driven at more than 30 there is a fucking cat that cross right in front of me and oblige me to slam on the brakes. (no place to swerve, plus You don't have fancy schmancy ESP on bottom priced Nissan, so better stay carefull with the steering input)
The first times I just brushed it off as coincidences... now reaching the 10th 'happenstance' there is a cat god somewhere trying to send me a message...

Haha I was dead serious, I did get really lucky though I admit with my disease and got one of the tops in Japan for it. He studied in America and travels around doing lectures and things. The surgery I got good care, but will say the 5 day hospital stay in a room full of stinky old men sucked big time. That part was for sure 3rd world. It's an outpatient or one nighter in the US.

No, I mean its healthcare system...it's true that in the U.S. you can get world-class healthcare: if pay for it. If you can't pay, you're fucked. This system is identical to that in most of sub-Saharan Africa (there's actually some countries that make caring for its citizens a priority, though).

I call bullshit. Rich people in third world countries have to go abroad for good heathcare. In America they don't so it's much more convenient.

But seriously, having been treated for the same kind of injury multiple times in Japan and the US, I can say that Japanese doctors are horrible when it comes to sports medicine and physical therapy.

I think we're saying the same thing here...though there is no shortage of incompetent docs in the US.
