I should write a script to automatically add this beneath every 2nd Coligny post.
PS it's not the language, it's the content.
wagyl wrote:OK, is your computer used solely by you? Because I have a completely Japanese language environment here, including menus on the browser, but the settings are that English has a higher priority than Japanese and I got so that I wasn't even aware that there was a Japanese language option on that page. If you can make that kind of setting without freaking out other users, I would recommend it. What the hell, go to town, put French at higher priority than English even!
I will say that the white text on Fuji snow works better in Japanese than in English.
And WTF, the English blog entry is titled in Japanese, the Japanese entry titled in English. They is some craaaaaaaaaaaazy dudes.

1. Have you ever seen a french keyboard? It's so bad that they don't even use them.

Are you freaked out by the A and Z being in the wrong place or something? (Disclaimer: I can type more-or-less blind UK, US, German and Japanese keyboard layouts, the only thing which really drives me mad is the CTRL key not being where God intended it to be).wuchan wrote:2. Personally I can't recall encountering a Japanese native speaker, even among reasonably non-incompetent IT professionals, who voluntarily uses the English version of their OS. I used Japanese Windows quite a lot in the dim and distant past, as a pure Japanese environment I found it fine. My main gripe - and it's a general Windows thing not limited to Japan - is that multilingual support sucks. (My other main gripe is that the East Asian font rendering still sucks).
wuchan wrote:As far as the IT people, I said "IT professionals". You know, the people that can solve real IT problems not IT drones that spend ten hours a day typing the same amount of code that the average indian can do in three hours for thirty bucks.

That all said, after having used a Mac for three years, I don't ever see myself switching back, unless Apple really drops the ball.

Click click click. Yup, my Unicomp here at home is working fine![]()
I got a HHKB lite at work, which is also not bad, though the Japanese layout confuses people.
