Quite often I've been able to trick the "kanji-only" fields by entering my name in double-width romaji - my guess is that sites often explicitly reject half-width and kana, and let everything else through.

Or a smaller vowel...that's how I registered my shit. You already know I'm crazy but I just couldn't accept having punctuation used as a character in my name. (As Wags just pointed out, you won't find any Japanese with it like that)
Example:
Jane Dow => ジェイン・ドォ
none of this ジェーン・ドー shit

What about "Jane Pho"?

Are you sure about that? There are some Japanese people whose names are written in kana. I know an あさ美 (Asami) and met a guy whose family name is 二ツ森 (Futatsumori).
chokonen888 wrote:That sounds even weirder since you'd expect the full ー and not the half - to be accepted in those fields. (since the kanji/kana are also 全 chacaters, no?) Unless they really were trying to keep out ー and simply forgot to reject - Either way, I've come across many o forms that won't accept the 伸ばす "-" in any form and you would have to enter "poo" as プウ rather than プー
