quality as the "unique" nipponese eyes.

I know that I'm going to be called a "racist" for asking such a question because in this PC world you can't even ponder a question like that without being called a "racist". You can call me what you like but I think this is a legitimate question.

First off, he's not Japanese - he's from Mongolia. Second, he's a freaking fighting machine. He would destroy you in a bar fight in a matter of seconds, would he be a fighter then? If you actually watched sumo instead of bashing it you would see his massive leg muscles snap into action, you would see him manhandle men who weigh 150-200 lbs more then him.

I'm sure he doesn't have as good a vision as you have but how is that relevent or reflect on him, or Asians in general?

France's Sarkozy denies derogatory remarks on sumo, Japan(Kyodo) - Jan 21, 9:51 am
French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy, who has presidential ambitions, has denied making remarks denigrating sumo wrestling -- a passion of French President Jacques Chirac -- and other aspects of Japan, the Japanese ambassador in France said Tuesday....
Ambassador Hiroshi Hirabayashi, who was invited by Sarkozy to a lunch Tuesday, said the interior minister said the article contained conjecture by the reporter.
The ambassador said he told Sarkozy he accepted his denial of the alleged remarks and invited him to Japan so that he can better understand the country and help improve Franco-Japanese relations.
... According to Hirabayashi, Sarkozy remained low-key throughout the lunch and criticized what he called sensational reporting and conjecture about domestic politics in the media. The presidential race is set for 2007.
....The Paris Match reporter who accompanied Sarkozy on the trip told a radio program Tuesday that the quotes from Sarkozy in the report were accurate.

------------------

[i The subtext of this whole tiff is that French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy hates Jacques Chirac. And Chirac's a passion of other aspects of Japan is that he has a Japanese mistress and 22 year old son here.

The expulsion may be closer than you think. Although my wife thinks he's just making mistakes, I think he's intentionally thumbing his nose at conservative Japan. It's like, "none of your boys can beat me, so you'll to find some other way to get rid of me."

Hey moderator

--- purile and ignorant content edited by moderator -----

What do you mean "purile and ignorant" ??? It was a perfectly legitimate question. I don't see any reason for it to have been deleted :(

Oh well. Maybe I should have asked it more like this.

Do people with a very narrow opening between their upper and lower eye lids see things as clearly as those with a much wider opening?

I'm only curious because when I squint my eyes down as much as this "fighters" eyes appear to be open, I have difficulty seeing.

If I close my eyes even a little things quickly become very blurry. So when I saw this "fighters" picture it got me wondering and I thought I'd ask the question here (since this is where I saw the picture that got me thinking about it) to see if someone out there had any ideas....

Now I see nothing wrong with this question. Unless you're the type who's so sensitive that you think that anyone who could even ponder such a question must be a "RACIST" and therefore must be censored... I'm not a racist. I just want to know. Nothing wrong with that right? :) I mean the japanese have on many occasions asked me "does everything look blue through your blue eyes?"... Now that is a stupid question, but I'm willing to bet that if someone on this forum had posted that question here you wouldn't have replaced it with a snide little,,,,,,,,

Not that the comment had to be removed... I mean we're all adults here and having such crap spewed with clear and obvious blindness only helps us all to recognize those who need help. Shin... you need help. How many pics do you got of yourself making squinty faces... maybe the guy's just been asked a tough question... maybe a nerve in his back was just pinched... do you ask that to explain his squinting eyes? No. You go for the lame attack on your hosts here. And then, after the moderator has had the decency and kindness to protect yo sorry dumb ass by hiding your foolishness, go about posting the crap again. Dood, drop it.

See, just like I said. No one can even ponder such a question without being labeled a " stupid racist" and threatened with "expulsion" from the forum. It's truly sickening :puke:

BTW. Could you please explain what is so "stupid" about the question?

Yes the guy may be squinting for what ever reason and his eyes might be much wider when he's relaxed but we have all seen a lot of Asians who have very narrow eyes even when relaxed. Has the question never entered your mind? And if it did. Does that mean that you're a "racist" or just wondering about something? Sheeesh  Did you ever wonder if blacks could get sunburned? I did when I was a kid. So to find out the answer I asked a black friend of mine. And he said "yes but it takes a lot longer" . I got my answer and he didn't stoop to calling me a "stupid racist".

It's truly pathetic the way people just love to throw that word around.

PS. You say that I've "been warned". Does this mean that you are a moderator and are giving me a warning? If so please let me know. I will then consider myself warned. Thank you.

Kick him out... gotta make room for the new recruits from the special school:
http://www.kindofcrap.com/sumofight.mov
Every morning when I wake up I like to lay there for a bit and think of how my day will go, but whenever I have the special school now I just give up. After all, there's not really any point when it somehow manages to consistently throw me curveballs by landing me in situations that no one in their right mind could ever reasonably anticipate. But I guess I'm used to it now, as these days I barely blink an eye as I rationalize the situation away in the time it takes to think one simple sentence like [i]Okay, I am now going to climb into a sumo suit and wrestle retarded people]

The sumo association knew he was a hothead before they promoted him. Those codes are applied before you give someone a promotion.

I think this tournament showed that Asashoryu is capable of beating the Ozeki (when he made his fast-track promotion to Yokozuna, most of the Ozeki were injured, so he got a free pass when it came to winning two tournaments in a row), but I think the way he became champion without facing the other wrestlers will haunt him for a while.

I saw Asashoryu beat Chiyotaikai at the tournament on Saturday. Asashoryu looked good beating the "Great White Hope" of Japanese sumo. There were some other incredible matches, including one where the wrestlers spun around in several 360 degree turns like doing a pirhouette before one of them got jettisoned from the dohyo. I even got pictures (illegally) from beside the dohyo during a match.

Then I went home and found that the fg gf formatted the memory card on my digicam. D'oh!! :wall:

Chiyotaikai and Tochiazuma are too flawed as wrestlers to make Yokozuna (no matter how much the crowds want a replacement for Takanohana). Chiyotaikai has no other move besides tsupari (push push!), and Tochiazuma is not strong enough to make up for his lack of speed.

Did you see Kokkai? He's the Georgian wrestler who's doing very well. How about Takamisakari?
