Or you could rent a mobile phone. I don't know what the rates are though.

Renting a phone would be cool but I would like to be able to come back to America with a cool phone. I know that I will not be able to use it on the wireless networks here but it would make a nice alarm clock or a camera, not to mention it would look better than any other phone here. Lol

Bringin a keitai home

Postby emperor » Fri Apr 16, 2004 1:18 am

Im just gonna bring my keitai home just as a pressie for a friend or family-member that offers digital camera (i had to shell out extra for the software and cable to connect to pc) and some java games. :)
-thats Europe- (no phone service)...

...however, I heard that a company will be offering a compatible phone service to that of Japans in the US soon? :?

there are prepaid cellphones - but the majority are bill phones for which youll have to sign up contracts.

AU (KDD) is the cheapest generally (esp. if youre a student) but there is also -
Vodafone /J-phone and DoCoMo (NTT)

pretty much any subway or train station here has public phones in them or nearby - it may work out cheaper for you to use them? :?:
