*AHEM* That would be Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake.

If we forget our history, what will become of us in the future? :shakeh:

edit: after seeing Brutus' name I was curious what he did after wrestling, and apparently he was in a freak parasailing accident in 1990. A parasailor in mid-flight whacked Brutus in the face with his knee. 8O It caved his face in and he had 100 steel plates put in to reconstruct it.

I like how it's perfectly ok to ramble on about X-Box live, I-Pods, and various techie-geek crap, but anime fans, oh no, THOSE guys are nerds...Should we make a hierarchy of nerd-dom so we can be sure we know who it's safe to look down on?

1. Film nerds
who can look down on
2. Music freaks
who can look down on
3. CS geeks
who can look down on
4. Gamers
who can look down on
5. Anime nerds
who can look down on
6. D&D dorks
who can look down on
7. Trekkies
who can look down on
8. Model kit collectors
who can look down on
9. Porn horders
who can look down on
10. Body piercers, etc. ad nauseum...

(whew, glad I can at least look down at those body piercers...those guys are FREAKS...)

Donuts

Howdy. Let's skip the formalities and cut to the chase. After a business trip, I came back to Narita on Saturday with a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts. They were gone within 24 hours. Can you help me obtain more?

 :domo: :domo: :domo:

They just opened a store in the heart of Sydney's CBD following the overwhelming success of their first store in the 'burbs. Apparently Japan's Mister Donuts tried to do the same here about 10 years ago but failed. If the lengthy lines outside Krispy Kreme are any indication, now would be a great time for Mister Donuts to try again ...

It must suck to have to deal with so much crap.

Just have to get used to it since I have to deal with it in my home country anyway..

Chinese all know kung-fu
Chinese are all good in Math
Chinese are all cheap as Scotsmen
Chinese all know ancient laundry tricks
They have secret medical information
They all excel in Math
They can learn Kanji easy (oh wait!)
etc etc.

 crazy..but what is ancient laundy tricks anyway? That one sounds interesting. I do know some Chinese cheapskate trick: if you want to save some water on laundry, you can turn your panty three times (so you can use every corner (provided your panty is triangular shape) and again turn it inside out and used it another 3 times, so total you can use it 6 times before you wash! Er..off course for the man I know the shape is slighty diffrent..

Kanji? I have to learn since seven years old and I was learning the complicated ones..but knowing kanji can never mean I am good/ fast in Japanese.

Sorry, getting out of the main topic again.

Greetings all,
Been gargoyling (reading but not contributing) this site for a year or 2 now, and finally decided to step up to the plate.
Stuck in the US for now, but been there many times, involved with a J-woman, and long time inolved in all things japanese.
No worries, I'm in my 30's, and I'm not an otaku, a heavy gamer, or an asianphile (except maybe by AK's definition)

OH yeah, and I tend to be highly cynical and sarcastic so I apologize for anyone I might inadvertantly offend and any rules I might break

have fun

Hi!

Postby MissedTheBus » Sat Jul 24, 2004 3:36 pm

Greetings!

I'm a 25 year old Brit currently working in Tokyo. Spent the last few months here and been having a good (if rather strange) time.
Rather ironiclly I'm heading back next week after just having discovered this place, but will be back in a month or so for another 3 month stint.
