Got a keitiei email from Galpal Miss Yamazaki today. She says to "Prease Postpone Trippu - worse heat than when you first came to Japan".
The heat is really gnarley in Tokyo in the Summer, no doubt. But is the weather this year hotter than the "blast furnace" 'o '95 in the big T? Today it says 88 (31C) degrees F at 80% humidity. I hear it's hitting 95F/35C from time to time too. Doesn't sound too bad, but with all that humidity? OUCH. I believe the record is 38C.
Props to whoever can handle it. I can't - I scurry from AC to AC and don't like to go out in the middle of the day. Same rule in BKK.
I remember the advice I got from some Japanese last time to NOT drink so much water in the heat. It keeps you cooler. Whatever!
Any wardrobe or keepin' cool hints most welcome. I'm gonna sweat bullets and be beet red regardless, but I need to minimize that if possible. Maybe I'll get that linen suit?

Weather forcast for August? HOT and HOTTER - I guess, no?
