Sorry omae mona my thread came across the wrong way. I think you took it as though I wanted to work, but that isn't the case. I was wondering how often this type of thing happens, as I have heard it is common. My girlfriend's friend is looking at going to a private english teacher, and I want to make sure that she goes somewhere good, and not to someone who is breaking laws etc. My *3 days without sleep* due to assignments obviously showed through. Apologies for wasting your time.

Teaching privately under the radar screen is something that a large number of foreigners do in this country whether it be JETs who are not supposed to teach on their visas or NOVA teach whose contracts specifically ban private teaching.

Generally, follow students are often the first place to look for recruits. I woulldn't advertise publicly as this my open up enquiries as to you status.

Honestly, if J-Immigration were truly reading this web site, they would have announced a return to pre-Meiji era immigration policy by now.

I lot of people go over to Japan on a tourist visa with every intention of getting a job. Once they have found an acceptable job they going to Korea for a quick holiday/get the proper visa stay.

If the person is only intending to stay for a short time as a tourist you shouldn't have any problem with immigration as they are far more worried about people overstaying visas. If immigration were interested in kicking people who were working contrary to the conditions of their visas, Japan would empty out relatively quickly.

Work in general shouldn't be a problem if the perswon is payed cash on the barrel and, as I said before, they are discreet.
